Senate panel to hold a hearing on Cordray's nomination to the CFPB

The Senate banking committee has scheduled a Sept. 6 hearing on the nomination of Richard Cordray as director of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. President Barack Obama chose Mr. Cordray to lead the agency, but Republican lawmakers have vowed to block any nominee until changes are made to the structure of the CFPB.
