Water-recycling firm wants to sell distilled water from fracking runoff

Canadian firm Fountain Quail Water Management is looking to process hydraulic fracturing runoff fluids and sell the recycled water to natural gas drillers. The firm holds a permit to release the distilled water from fracking runoff in Arkansas' Fayetteville Shale into Cadron Creek, but is opting to sell the water to drillers. "Somewhere down the road we could end up with a [not in my backyard] issue and someone will say, 'You polluted our stream.' We'd rather avoid that by recycling and reusing the water in the fracking process," said Fountain Quail spokesman Richard Magnus.
