China rerouting flights to ease congestion in Beijing

In an effort to keep flights running on time and ease congestion, Chinese officials will reroute 36 flights around Beijing. The move is expected to either shorten or lengthen flights by 10%. According to FlightStats, Beijing and Shanghai had on-time departure rates of 18% and 29%, in July, respectively. That's the worst among 35 major international airports, FlightStats reports.
