China's e-commerce sales soared in the first half

E-commerce sales in China hit $705 billion in the first half of the year, a 24.3% increase over the same period last year, according to the China e-Business Research Center. Online retail sales, which includes business-to-consumer and consumer-to-consumer sales, jumped 47.3% as many small and midsize companies turned their efforts to boosting domestic sales.
