Dangerous breed debate fueled by recent media stories on dog attacks

Pit bull attacks on humans are often news-grabbing events, but they don't represent the disposition of all dogs included in this breed category, according to the National Canine Research Council's Don Cleary. A 2012 AVMA report on dog bite incidents concluded that no single breed is inherently more dangerous than another, Cleary said.
