IDC cuts tablet forecast in wake of "phablets," smart watch options

IDC reduced its global estimate for tablet sales this year by 2%, to 227.4 million devices, citing the increased popularity of large-screen smartphones and the debut of wearable technology, such as the smart watch. The revised estimate is still 58% higher than 2012, but IDC points to possible perceived shortcomings among consumers, especially over their price.
