Illinois regulates drone use in ACLU-backed bill

Illinois law enforcement will not be able to use surveillance drones to collect information on citizens without a search warrant, following the state's passage of a new rule aimed at protecting privacy rights. The measure, backed by the American Civil Liberties Union, makes some exceptions for terrorism-fighting Homeland Security use.
