Immigration is good for public finances, researchers say

Immigrants are often portrayed as a burden on state welfare systems -- but, if anything, the opposite is true, researchers say. A study of immigration's impact in 34 developed nations found a positive impact in all but a handful of countries, although the total impact seldom exceeded 0.5% of GDP.
