Social studies teacher to use music to share knowledge about Korean culture

A two-week visit to South Korea has generated ideas that social studies teacher Sandra Makielski will use in her classroom at Davisville Middle School in Rhode Island. Makielski said she learned about the country's people, food, culture -- and music. She said she's considering turning one day of the week into "Music Mondays" since her discovery of Korean pop music, called K-Pop, which includes PSY's international hit, "Gangnam Style."
