Starbucks says it wants to sell coffee to Colombians

Starbucks will open its first branch in Bogota, Colombia, in 2014, and plans to open at least 50 locations in the country over five years. Bringing a U.S. coffee chain to a proud coffee-producing nation might seem strange, but Starbucks will preempt resistance by promising to sell domestic coffee. Colombia has improved as an investment destination as security risks have diminished, analysts say.
