California companies use small initiatives such as loaner bikes, yoga, massage and games as part of wellness plans, along with bigger strategies such as healthy meals, flexible work schedules, onsite gyms, child care and lifestyle management programs. Rachel McClure, HR program manager at Mindbody in San Luis Obispo, said wellness benefits help recruitment and retention, but the company also wants its employees to take better care of themselves.
