Google challenges Amazon in race to aerial drone deliveries

Google is secretly developing advanced drone technology that it hopes will revolutionize the way consumers receive packaged deliveries. Dubbed "Project Wing," the initiative is a brainchild of Google's "X" lab, which is working to push the envelope on next-generation technologies. While the technology is years from commercial launch, the company says it successfully completed trial flights in Australia, delivering items via air over a distance of more than half a mile.
