NASA plans robots to scour alien worlds for resources

Future NASA robots may spread out autonomously over alien worlds to explore for resources and then signal one another for a coordinated effort when one of them finds something. Current test models of the robots are hard at work in a car park at the Kennedy Space Center, finding bar-coded pieces of paper that serve as stand-ins for water, fuel resources and other valuable items on alien worlds.
