Pediatric ambulance combines ICU technology, comfort care

The new pediatric ambulance being launched by Southwest Florida's Golisano Children's Hospital includes high-tech ICU technology and special comforts, such as a DVD player to help distract young patients during a long transport. The ambulance also will allow hospital-based physicians to do video consults. Pediatric ICU coordinator Niki Shimko said the goal is to treat children quickly and shorten their hospital stay.
