Pediatric scoliosis device from Medtronic wins FDA nod

The FDA has cleared Medtronic to market its SHILLA Growth Guidance System, designed to offer a better alternative to conventional therapies for children with severe types of scoliosis. The technology features an adjustable nonlocking screw set and is capable of correcting spinal deformities in children while nurturing growth, not stunting it.
