California high school offers 100% virtual-learning program

Students at Maidu High School in Auburn, Calif., can take all of their classes online without ever having to step into a classroom if they choose the school's new online program. The 27 courses offered -- which include English, math and science -- cover the curriculum necessary for graduation. Students can also participate in a blended learning program or independent study, where students take online courses but meet regularly with an adviser.
