New air routes aim to ease congestion

Southwest Airlines in January will start using new air routes aimed at reducing congestion and increasing on-time arrivals. The new lanes are part of the FAA's effort to redesign the nation's outdated air transport system and are reserved for planes equipped with the navigation technology that allows for precise maneuvers.
