Scotland city's officials propose cutting teacher-preparation time

The City Council in Glasgow, Scotland, has proposed cutting teacher-preparation time by 2.5 hours each week to save £15 million each year. The proposal could potentially affect all 51,000 teachers in Scotland, as teachers contracts are negotiated nationally. It would the first alteration to a breakthrough agreement in 2001 that improved teacher pay and working conditions throughout the country.
