States are adopting systems to report graduation data by subgroup

More states are developing systems that will allow them to report student graduation data by subgroup, as is required under No Child Left Behind. Nine states and Washington, D.C., did not comply with the reporting standard for the 2007-08 school year. However, officials in Connecticut and Kentucky say they will soon be able to track graduation data among student subgroups, such as English-language learners or students living in poverty.
