Award-winning teachers offered advice to CNN on how to improve schools nationwide. Sarah Wessling, the National Teacher of the Year, encourages leaders to invest more in quality teachers. One Washington, D.C., teacher is urging schools to focus less on testing, and a retired teacher says schools could improve student achievement by including more technology in the classroom. Other suggestions include year-round school, taking risks and improving relationships between teachers and parents.
