Four districts are selected for virtual learning program

Four districts nationwide have been selected to test a virtual learning program that includes online classes and teacher training valued at $600,000. The Apex Learning program is being provided as part of a graduation and college-preparedness initiative from America's Promise Alliance, which was founded by former Secretary of State Colin Powell. The selected districts are Cross County School District in Cherry Valley, Ark., Norman Public Schools in Oklahoma, Miami-Dade Public Schools in Florida and St. Mary's Public Schools in Leonardtown, Md.
