Harvard experts call for reduced medical device spending

Harvard researchers claim that reducing doctors' spending on medical devices, instead of cutting Medicaid and Medicare budgets, could help control health care costs. A recent report from industry group AdvaMed, however, indicated that medical device costs have barely budged at 1% a year on average, which is slower than the national rate of 2.8%.
