NBCT: Addressing parents' fears about technology

National Board Certified Teacher Marsha Ratzel writes that she works to address parents' fears about the technology their children will use in her class at the start of the school year. She tells them how the tools, such as online book clubs and blogs, will be used to help students learn, and provides a list of websites students will visit. Ratzel said she also explains the safety and security precautions that are in place, and allows parents to opt out if they are uncomfortable.
