CDC: Vaccination rates in teens have room for improvement

Vaccination coverage among U.S. teens has improved since 2006, but human papillomavirus vaccine rates were slightly behind other routine vaccines, CDC researchers wrote in the Morbidity & Mortality Weekly Report. Coverage increased from 2010 to 2011 for tetanus, diphtheria, acellular pertussis vaccine, meningococcal conjugate and HPV vaccines, but the increase of HPV vaccine coverage among girls was lower, researchers found.
