Google Apps for Education helps schools communicate, cut costs

An Ohio school district is launching the Google Apps for Education program -- intended to improve communication among schools and reduce spending. Officials say they plan to use the program to make teachers' e-mail accounts more uniform, share documents -- even among different schools -- and provide free e-mail accounts for all students. Officials also plan to use the program to go as paperless as possible in three years, cutting additional costs.
