Lack of issuance boosts returns of UK bank bonds

UK bank-bond returns are being buoyed by the lowest level of issuance in almost 20 years. Banks have issued about £15.5 billion in bonds this year, down 36% compared with the same period last year and the lowest amount since 1998, according to Dealogic.
