Lack of issuance boosts returns of U.K. bank bonds

U.K. bank-bond returns are being buoyed by the lowest level of issuance in almost 20 years. Banks have issued about $24 billion in bonds this year, down 36% compared with the same period last year and the lowest amount since 1998, according to Dealogic.
