Minn. districts shutter schools amid heat wave

Parents in parts of Minnesota say they hope that school officials will be more cautious about starting school next year at a time when temperatures are at their peak. This comes as about two dozen schools with limited or no air conditioning in the Minneapolis district cancelled classes, and schools in other parts of the state have been dismissing students in the early afternoon amid a heat wave. There were reports that a few students became ill, and parents say they hope school officials will take note of the weather next year when setting schedules.
