Outsourcing firms in India say U.S. immigration bill discriminates against them

Indian outsourcers who depend on foreign labor to fill high-tech jobs in the U.S. say immigration legislation making its way through Congress will unfairly hurt their industry by restricting the use of H-1B visas to favor U.S. companies. "The bill would give great market opportunities to non-Indian companies, even though they tap into the same pool of skilled labor from India through the visa process," said Som Mittal, president of the National Association of Software and Services Companies, a trade association for Indian outsourcing firms.
