Study: Children with working mothers have higher GPAs

A mother's decision to hold down a job may have a positive impact on her child's academic performance, according to a study of families in Denmark. Children of working mothers tended to have slightly higher grade-point averages, the study found. It's important to note that Denmark has leave policies in place that may make it easier for mothers to manage the challenges that come with working while raising a family.
