Researchers investigate effect of poultry antibiotics on humans

A study of Maryland poultry plant workers seeks to determine if antibiotics fed to chickens can cause humans to be infected with drug-resistant bacteria. The National Chicken Council says poultry farmers follow strict rules concerning antibiotics, waiting a certain amount of time before bringing antibiotic-raised chickens to market.
