Borrowing from Fed's discount window down significantly

After four large banks each borrowed $500 million from the Federal Reserve's discount window last week, the amount borrowed dropped by nearly half, to $1.101 billion, this week. While the banks haven't taken advantage of the discount window despite the Fed's encouragement, many see the change as a sign that the markets have calmed.
