GDSs offer agents new purchasing capabilities

Travel agents are starting to take advantage of new purchasing capabilities, such as the option to buy airline products and services a la carte, within the various global distribution systems. Sabre Holdings, for example, announced its new "merchandizing" solution, which allows "airlines to differentiate and sell premium airline seats in a coach class aircraft cabin" through the agencies' desktops.
