EPA plans to classify carbon dioxide as pollutant

The Environmental Protection Agency said it plans to declare carbon dioxide as a dangerous pollutant in a formal "endangerment finding." The finding would allow the agency to regulate carbon dioxide under the Clean Air Act, regardless of the fate of the climate-change bill. According to the EPA, carbon dioxide contributes to global warming by trapping heat in the atmosphere.
