How Cisco goes idea hunting

Crowdsourcing is all the rage, but the process is more complicated than simply putting out a call for innovative ideas, writes Cisco's Guido Jouret. During a recent innovation competition, Jouret notes that Cisco needed to create a user-friendly Web portal to handle submissions, as well a legal framework that would protect the company in case of an intellectual property dispute.
