Infrastructure lays foundation for long-term growth

Transportation and infrastructure projects will lay the foundation for long-term growth in the U.S. economy and make traveling and shipping goods safer, experts say. "The biggest reason to be putting stimulus money into infrastructure instead of other uses is the long-term benefit it provides to the economy," AGC Chief Economist Ken Simonson said. He also noted that the timing is good for infrastructure projects because materials costs have declined from year-ago levels.
