OMD the winner in global media consolidation for Vodafone

Omnicom Group's OMD has won worldwide media duties for Vodafone, in a consolidation review. OMD previously handled about 80% of the account, which reportedly is worth more than $1 billion. Finalists included Aegis Group's Carat, which took over the U.K. portion of Vodafone's media business from OMD in early 2009, and WPP Group's Team Vodafone unit.
