An Ohio charter school for grades 3 through 8 is facing closure by the state for poor student performance, but it plans to keep its staff and building by changing its name and charter. Under the plan, the failing W.E.B. DuBois Academy will be joined by sister school Cincinnati Speech & Reading, which teaches students from kindergarten through second grade. That school will move into the building next year and expand operations through eighth grade.
