Union: Giving teachers extra planning time benefits students

The president of a chapter of the North Carolina Association of Educators writes that she supports a new Wake County policy that provides more planning time for teachers. Jennifer Lanane believes the district's early-dismissal policy will give teachers more time for professional development, which in turn will benefit students.
