U.S. professors help Palestinian effort to improve special education

Responding to a lack of special-education resources in the Palestinian territories, two U.S. university professors recently helped Palestinian education officials develop their first teacher-preparation program in special education. Professors Rebecca Hopkins and Jane Anderson at St. Mary's University in Minnesota participated in a four-day Palestinian education conference, helping to develop a plan for the country's teachers to earn special-education certification through graduate programs.
