Co-teaching gains ground in Massachusetts district

More schools in Melrose, Mass., are allowing general-education and special-education instructors to teach classes together. Melrose High School Principal Joe Dillon, who has used the co-teaching model at the school for years, says having the teachers share instructional duties in the classroom can result in positive changes for all students. He said the school is ensuring that professional development is provided for both types of classroom teachers.
