Deere will sell its wind-energy unit to Exelon for $900 million

Deere plans to sell its wind-energy unit to Exelon for $900 million. The deal will usher Exelon, a provider of nuclear generators, into the wind-energy business via 36 wind farms. Deere entered this space in 2005, investing more than $1.1 billion on wind projects, but scaled back during the credit crisis.
