First online-only public school in Massachusetts opens this week

The first online-only public school in Massachusetts is set to go live Thursday, becoming the first virtual school in the region to serve students in grades K-12. Students at the Massachusetts Virtual Academy will take classes online with the help of a certified learning coach, who could be an educator or a parent. Students will spend as much time on classes as students in traditional schools but can advance through material at their own pace.
