Louisiana nurses use pill trackers to improve patient safety

Hospital nurses and nursing students in some Louisiana health facilities are using scanners and ID bracelets to keep track of what medications and dosages each patient should take. Although the pill-tracking technology tends to be slightly more time-consuming than manual prescriptions, the system helps prevent medication mistakes.
