Louisiana parish to test value-added model to evaluate teachers

Louisiana's Jefferson Parish will evaluate teachers under a value-added model that will look at how students achieve over time through the use of test data and reviews. The district will be the first in the state to use the method and serve as a pilot for the state, which is providing funding for implementation. The results will be included in promotion decisions and may affect pay.
