Mortgage closing costs increase, survey finds

A survey by found a 37% increase in the closing costs on a $200,000 mortgage this year compared with last year. Recent federal regulations require lenders to disclose reliable closing-cost estimates to borrowers. Some experts say the increased costs are due to banks' having to employ more people to deal with the additional requirements.
