Will Murdoch back Apple's 99-cent rental plan?

News Corp.'s Rupert Murdoch reportedly is open to trying Apple's six-month experiment of offering rentals of network shows for 99 cents per episode on iTunes, because he sees the move as being beneficial to his newspapers' ability to take full advantage of the iPad platform. Some News Corp. executives are reportedly opposed to the trial. NBC Universal, CBS and Time Warner have rejected the plan, while Walt Disney Co. is said to be interested in giving the concept a try.
