Concrete basin will support a "floating" casino floor

The concrete pour for the basin foundation of the Isle of Capri casino in Cape Girardeau, Mo. was completed, with about 40 concrete trucks arriving hourly for 12 hours through Tuesday night to deliver approximately 2,100 cubic yards of concrete. The concrete will form a 12-inch basin with an area of almost 41,000 square feet. This needs to hold at least two feet of water -- upon which the casino's floor will "float."
