Data reveal high intake of sugary drinks by teens:

A CDC survey showed that boys ages 12 to 19 had daily intake of 273 calories from sugary drinks, while men ages 20 to 39 consumed 252 calories daily from the same beverages. Researchers also found that non-Hispanic black children and adolescents got 8.5% of their daily calories from such drinks, compared with 7.7% for non-Hispanic whites and 7.4% for Mexican-Americans.
