Idled N.C. ethanol plant gets $34.5M bid in foreclosure auction

The idled Clean Burn Fuels ethanol plant in Hoke County, N.C., received an opening bid of $34.5 million during a foreclosure auction last week, according to Lonnie Player Jr., a lawyer and trustee for the sale. The bid was made by Cape Fear Farm Credit, the plant's primary lender, Player said. Interested parties can still submit their bids for the plant until Tuesday, Player added.
